Battlefield 3 armored kill new game modes

These two maps differ in design of course, but the sense of scale is definitely similar. Tanks need holiday photos too. GS: With the new maps being very vehicle-centric, can we expect them to be very open in terms of terrain, with scarcely any buildings? NF: You can expect both. For example, on Bandar Desert, there is a whole town being constructed near the shore, and there's always intense building to building combat taking place there.

However, surrounding this built up area are vast deserts populated by artillery bases and supply lines that are key to controlling if you want to stop the enemy from getting the upper hand. NF: I think fans of the big epic Battlefield are going to love it.

We are not only stretching our capacity when it comes to how much content we can fit into a map and how large we can make them, we are also introducing new gameplay and experiences that I'm sure players will love getting their hands on and learning new tricks with. NF: We are introducing motorcycles in our fifth expansion, End Game.

These will of course be nimble and fast transport vehicles, but might offer something else as well. So when we started thinking about how to provide players with DLC post launch, we wanted it to be something really special that fans would truly appreciate. That's when we thought of doing "more than just maps" and instead give players a chance to enjoy something suited for their favorite Battlefield experience. And that's how we committed to the themed expansions we have presented now.

We are putting a tremendous amount of work into these, and we just hope that players will enjoy all that these expansion packs have to offer. Got a news tip or want to contact us directly? Armored Kill gives you control of new tanks and vehicles, adds a tank-centric game mode, and introduces gameplay elements that change the way some of the classic game modes are played.

Not everyone on a team will be able to drive their own tank, but there are plenty of ATVs, jets, and anti-air vehicles you can jump into to get into the action quickly.

One vehicle class is the Tank Destroyer. These guys are lightly armored tanks, which are much faster than the likes of the M1 Abrams tank, and they pack quite a punch. Armored Kill does an excellent job of balancing the strengths of the vehicles with the abilities of other vehicle classes. The Gunship is a unique vehicle your team can earn in the Conquest game mode and is controlled by the attacking team in Rush.

Players can then use it as a mobile spawn or man its turrets. Its mobile turrets can destroy armored vehicles with ease, and it also has a formidable air defense with its anti-air cannons and countermeasures.

In spite of being a game imbalance, if the objective was to make the battle different, then that was achieved. And of course, the experience on each map will differentiate between game modes.

Playing Conquest on these maps with a giant area and lots of vehicles is a real madness, especially on the PC. If we go to the console versions, where the limit in each room is 12 players per team, a giant map can be a stone in the shoe. Bigger is not always better — it means that you will spend a lot of time walking between goals and that there will not always be clashes.

So I think Batttlefield has its climax on consoles in Rush mode, where objective-focused combat creates a more intense battle. Added to all this is the new Tank Superiority mode, which, in a way, is the definitive materialization of the much-anticipated battle between vehicles. Here, a flag located in the center of the map is the main objective of both teams. Not taking a tank there is unthinkable for two reasons: one because it is synonymous with death; the other because the tanks in this mode are so placed at hand to sow that not taking one is a crime.

You can forget everything you have learned so far, because in this mode the confrontation is necessarily direct. This often makes it repetitive and boring, not least because the fighting can last too long.

Call me conservative, but this Tank Superiority is far from convincing me. What Armored Kill does best is inherent to him. They are the maps, for me some of the best in the series.

Different, intense and challenging combat, albeit at the cost of some imbalances.
