Rcbs rock chucker supreme mounting template

Two problems quickly surfaced. The first was that the elevated position of the press placed a lot more stress on the bench, which had to be more solidly mounted to the floor and wall. The second was that screws and glue were not sufficient to hold the soft pine 2x6 frame together.

Over time the frame loosened up. The solution was to support all mounting surfaces with metal plates available at your local building supply outlet so that the screws pass through the plates before entering the wood. In this manner the upper and lower surfaces can be connected by these metal plates as well as screws. This greatly strengthened the frames which have been trouble free for many years.

Even with the added expense of the plates, these frames were inexpensive to build. Gammon said:. Click to expand Rcbs makes a plate that you can bolt to your bench that will handle the RC and many of the pieces of reloading equipmen.

Is 10" about the minimum height you can run at before the handle will come in contact with the bench? Did you have to find means to bend the metal plates, if so, what did you use? Patriot NES Member. I didn't have my eyes crewed in all the way this morning it's www.

Thanks for the ideas! Cal-- It depends what caliber you are resizing and how long a chunk of I-beam you've got--but it's maybe a good idea to attach a small c-clamp front and back. I used it totally free-standing at first, and I've never felt any discernable side-to-side wobble, but lifting up during neck-sizing A tiny c-clamp kept it from lifting.

Put a thin piece of cardboard on the bottom of the press, use a ballpien hammer ball side to lightly tap the outline of the press and the holes.

You can call it a template or a gasket, your choice. Quoted: Not interested in raising the press off the bench. I just want to eliminate press flex. View Quote View All Quotes. Quoted: Quoted: inline precision makes a fabulous press mount for your RCBS with interchangeable top plates.
